    Given that the transportation sector represents the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in France, the New Mobility market is experiencing strong growth to meet this ecological imperative. By 2030, 500 million people worldwide could be affected by these new emerging mobility trends.
    As a result, developments in new sustainable mobility are articulated around four areas:

      How we support you in your projects related to new mobility and sustainable mobility

      Alcimed’s strength lies in its in-depth knowledge of the New Mobility sector, acquired through numerous projects carried out for major players in the sector.

      We have a specialized team dedicated to its clients in the Mobility, Energy and Environment sectors, and have been carrying out around 50 projects per year in these areas of activity for more than 15 years. Our team works with all players in the value chain, and has thus developed a 360° vision on the subjects of sustainable mobility and an expertise that we put at the service of key leaders such as: Michelin, Renault Trucks, Peugeot, Volvo, Airbus, Faurecia, Egis, RATP as well as SNCF.

      The diversity of our clients, the geographic fields we explore, and the types of projects we carry out, give us a global and in-depth understanding of the issues addressed in the field of new mobilities.

      Alcimed explores New Mobility trends on a daily basis for its clients, on topics as diverse as, for example: exploration of new solutions for decarbonized maritime transportation, opportunities for the development of charging stations for electric vehicles, competition analysis and study of the urban air mobility market, strategic positioning of new materials in the automotive industry, or the best practices of new geolocation technologies.

      Examples of recent projects carried out for our clients in new mobility

      • Support for a leading player in the transportation sector in the evaluation of the opportunity to develop a new sustainable mobility solution: sail propulsion

        We accompanied an industrial player in the mobility sector in the assessment of the opportunity to develop a new sail propulsion solution to support the decarbonization of part of international maritime transportation.

        After a first stage of global shipping market research, we supported our client in the segmentation of potential clients and the definition of relevant value propositions for their solution. Then, we contacted these potential clients to validate and adjust the selected value propositions, and refine our understanding of their practices, their needs and their expectations. Finally, we supported our client in defining a business model based on the results of our investigations and on current and future capacities.

        Ultimately, our client decided to invest massively in this New Mobility solution: sail propulsion.

      • Study of several application markets for New Mobility solutions in the field of drones

        Our client wanted to benefit from a quantitative assessment of the long-range drone market in the military, commercial, and government sectors in order to capitalize on its skills in new sectors.

        To do this, we have assessed the fleet and the annual production needs of drones in the 3 target sectors by 2035. At the same time, we identified use cases of interest in these sectors (gas pipelines, rails, surveillance of expansive areas, etc.).

        Our study enabled our client to finalize its strategic roadmap for the next 15 years.

      • Prospective study on the development of new air mobility in urban areas

        We supported an international car manufacturer and more specifically its “new mobility” team in its development strategy.

        This player was interested in a new sector, that of air mobility, and the question for our client was to understand whether it should position itself in this sector in the medium term.

        To answer it, we carried out an in-depth analysis of the bibliography and interacted with 25 key players in this ecosystem (manufacturers, equipment manufacturers, institutions, etc.) in order to identify the obstacles to the development of this market and the potential applications that will emerge from it by 2030. Ultimately, our client obtained a first macro view of this market and its ecosystem, as well as our team’s recommendation on the strategy to adopt in the near future.

      • Support for a leading transportation player in the construction of its service roadmap for its sustainable mobility solutions

        As part of the development of its activities around new sustainable mobility solutions, and in particular in electromobility, we supported our client in the construction of its roadmap on the services to be offered to its clients.

        To do this, we went to meet its end clients to better understand their businesses, their current practices, their constraints and the levers that push them to invest in new, more sustainable mobility solutions. Then, we confronted this vision with that of our client during a session of creativity and innovation to jointly build a relevant roadmap that generates value for all stakeholders.

      • Development of a forward-looking vision of new forms of sustainable air mobility and identification of opportunities for a mobility player

        Our customer, a leading player in Mobility, wanted to anticipate the development of new forms of sustainable air mobility and identify potential opportunities to participate in the democratization of these new solutions.

        Our team began with a scoping phase that enabled us to take stock of the Group’s current activities and distinctive capabilities, and to define the scope of our exploration around 3 new forms of air mobility: freight transport by drone, urban mobility (taxi-flying) and regional mobility. We then identified the obstacles to the development of these solutions by 2030, and considered what our customer could do to overcome them.

        In the end, we worked with our customer to create a Fresque de la Mobilité Aérienne, which enabled our customer’s teams to grasp the challenges, barriers and opportunities for the Group in an entertaining way.

      • Exploration of the opportunity to develop a micromobility solution for Europe's metropolises

        As part of a project to develop a new model of compact electric transport, we helped a customer, an industrial leader, to explore and evaluate the market opportunity for this solution.

        After carrying out a comprehensive overview of the micromobility market in Europe (key figures, trends, players, regulations, infrastructure, etc.), we helped our customer define its value proposition and positioning. We then challenged and tested this CVP with players in the field (users, distributors, institutions, mobility operators, etc.).

        On the basis of this input, and in view of the effort and resources required, particularly for distribution, we recommended that our customer not pursue this opportunity, while identifying potential pivots.
